Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Lucy’s mother Sally had me render her daughter throughout the visual lyrics of this famous Beatle’s song.  I pulled imagery right from Al Brodax’s 1968 film Yellow Submarine.. I was actually his neighbor briefly as a kid back then.. but much of the lyrics were not illustrated in the graphics of the animation.  So I added imagery where needed and stitched the design into something that I could render on an 4′ x 3′ canvas.  It took quite a long time to finish but I learned a lot along the way.

Golden Ratio Townscapes

Newtown Tricentenary

Three Hundred Years since it’s founding in 1706, I “painted the town” as it were.. as it is, cuz it’s very much like it always wuz.  This painting is only about 14 x 11 but had a lot of intricate detail.

Golden Ratio Landscapes

Foothills of the Berkshires

This was an experiment in geometric harmony.  Each of the elements are in a ratio 61.8% with respect to the two dominant neighboring elements… such that the entire picture plane is divided harmoniously without waste or redundancy… Phi, the Golden Ratio being the function which allows for this.
